The Division of Children and Family Services merges the former Offices of Protection and Safety and Economic and Family Support.

This merger brings together approximately 2,392 employees who provide services that make a difference in the lives of Nebraska’s children and families.

It includes the areas of child abuse, foster care, adoption, domestic violence, Employment First, ADC, Medicaid eligibility, refugee resettlement, energy assistance, child care subsidy, child support enforcement, food stamps, economic assistance, Integrated Care Coordination Units, resource development, quality assurance and parole and community-based juvenile services.

The five Service Areas and the two Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Centers in Kearney and Geneva are also part of this division.
