Nebraska Parkinson's Disease Registry
Legal Requirements
Under the law, physicians are required to report patients to the Nebraska Department of
Health and Human Services (DHHS) within sixty days of diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.
The law also requires that pharmacists report patients prescribed any medication on the
'Reportable List of Drugs' to the (DHHS). Individuals may also self-report to the
registry.

Since this is a state-mandated registry, it is exempt from HIPAA disclosure issues;
patient consent is not needed to send us the information requested.
