Asbestos
Requirements for Certification

To qualify for certification in an asbestos occupation in Nebraska you must:

  1. Have completed, within the preceding year, a course approved by the Department of Regulation and Licensure, Asbestos Control/Lead Based Paint Program for the asbestos occupation applied for and score at least 70% on the final written examination;
  2. Have completed, within the preceding year, a course approved by the Department of Regulation and Licensure, Asbestos Control/Lead-Based Paint Program of at least a minimum of 4 hours duration on the applicable Nebraska law, rules and regulations, and score at least 70% on the final written examination; and
  3. Have been examined by a physician, within the preceding year, and declared to be physically capable of working while wearing a respirator.
