Fluoride

Frequent Exposure to small amounts of fluoride each day will best reduce the risk for dental disease (cavities).  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends drinking optimally fluoridated water and brushing our teeth at least twice daily with fluoride toothpaste as the best means of keeping our teeth healthy.

Recommendations for Using Fluoride to Prevent and Control Dental Caries in the United States. MMWR, August 17, 2001;50 (RR-14):142.
