Federal Scholarship & Loan Repayment Programs
| Federal scholarship and loan repayment programs are available
through the National Health Service Corps. The National Health Service Corps is
committed to improving the health of the Nation's underserved. It unites communities in
need with caring health professionals and support their efforts to build better systems of
care. Approximately 50 million people live in communities without access to primary
health care. The National Health Service Corps is working to change this by helping
medically underserved communities recruit and retain primary care clinicians. These
clinicians include primary healthcare providers, dental providers and mental and
behavioral health professionals. |

strength totals more than 2,700 clinicians/health care professionals. These
professionals are influencing the outcomes of underserved populations and communities.
Many of these clinicians have remained in service after fulfilling their initial NHSC
commitments. In Nebraska, there are currently 16 National Health Service Corps providers
