Nebraska Medicaid issued a newly designed Medicaid Identification Card effective August 1, 2009. This card will be issued one time. It will be a wallet-sized plastic card designed similar to private insurance cards listing only minimum information including the Medicaid Number. All client-specific eligibility information will need to be verified at each visit by accessing one of these four options:

• DHHS Internet Access for Enrolled Providers

• Nebraska Medicaid Eligibility System (NMES) at 800-642-6092 (in Lincoln, 471-9580).

• Medicaid Inquiry Line at 877-255-3092 (in Lincoln 471-9128).

• Standard Health Care Eligibility Benefit Inquiry and Response transaction (ASC X12N 270/271).
