Emergency Order Issued to Omaha Child Care Provider
LincolnThe Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure has issued an emergency order immediately suspending the license of an Omaha child care provider.
Pamela Jones, 5818 Florence Boulevard, Omaha, who operates a Family Child Care Home I, must cease providing care to any children. The order was effective April 16.
The order states that "on April 9, 2007, Pamela Jones was charged in Douglas County with Second Degree Domestic Assault, a Class 3A Felony, based on an incident which occurred on April 7, 2007, in which Ms. Jones husband, Ronald Jones, was shot with a gun in the right leg. Pamela Jones failed to notify the Department of this incident and her resulting arrest. An emergency exists requiring immediate action to protect the physical well-being and safety of a child or children in the care of Pamela Jones."
A Family Child Care Home I is authorized to provide child care for ten children.
Emergency orders are issued when necessary to protect the immediate physical well-being and safety of a child in a child care program.
