Emergency Order Issued to Omaha Child Care Provider
LincolnThe Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure has issued an emergency order immediately suspending the license of an Omaha child care provider.
Marie Barber, doing business as The Toy House Learning Center, 3169 Ames Avenue, Omaha, a Family Child Care Home II, must cease providing care to any children. The order was effective May 25.
The order states that "the Fire Marshal has inspected the premises and has determined that the facility is a fire hazard, that it has no operative fire detection, and that children receiving care at the facility would be at risk."
A Family Child Care Home II is authorized to provide child care for 12 children.
Emergency orders are issued when necessary to protect the immediate physical well-being and safety of a child in a child care program.
