DHHS to Hold Hearing on Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
August 14 in Lincoln
Lincoln The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division
of Children and Family Services will hold a public hearing August 14, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
CT. The hearing will take place in Lincoln at the State Office Building, 301 Centennial
Mall South, Lower Level Conference Room A.
The Division is holding this hearing to accept comments on a proposed state plan for
the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program for the period of October 1, 2008 through
September 30, 2009.
The state plan is submitted annually to the federal Department of Health and Human
Services, which provides funding to states to assist low-income individuals and families
with home heating and cooling costs. The plan describes Nebraskas program, including
eligibility requirements and benefit guidelines.
Anyone may attend and comment at the hearing or submit comments in writing. Written
comments must be postmarked or received by August 29, 2008. They should be sent to DHHS
Economic Assistance, 4th Floor, State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall
