Substance Abuse Grants Awarded

Lincoln—Sixteen organizations will receive a total of $9 million over four years from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, for substance abuse prevention activities. The source of the funding is the federal Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration.

The priorities of the funded projects are the prevention of alcohol use among persons 17 and younger, the reduction of binge drinking among 18-25-year-olds, and the reduction of alcohol-impaired driving across all age groups.
