Tobacco Free Nebraska

No Limits

There are No Limits to what tobacco companies will do when they market their addictive, deadly products, and there are No Limits to what Nebraska teens will do to stop them. That's why they call themselves...(can you guess?)... No Limits!

No Limits is a fun, youth-led group unlike anything you have seen or heard. Nebraska teens are joining together to fight Big Tobacco and their marketing practices through activism, empowerment, and grassroots communication. No Limits works with communities state-wide to promote youth activism.

Since 2002, the No Limits Youth Board has led the group. Whether it’s fighting to get rid of tobacco in schools and on campuses, or exposing the connections between Hollywood and Big Tobacco, the No Limits Youth Board has taken the lead.

Why?

Former Youth Board member Lauren Shoemaker of Grand Island says, "I have family members who have died from smoking. I want to stop tobacco industries from going further and attacking the younger members of my family."

In 2005, 2006, and 2007 annual No Limits Youth Activism Summits were held. The summits empowered youth from across the state to take action. While attending the summits, youth learned the ins and outs of Big Tobacco’s marketing practices. Then, plans were written and launched in home communities with the support of No Limits Activism Grants.
