The Nebraska Homeless Assistance Program (NHAP) provides funds to community agencies to address the needs of people who are homeless or nearly homeless. Funds come from both state and federal sources. State funds are from the Nebraska Homeless Assistance Trust Fund. Federal funds are from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Emergency Solutions Grant.NHAP funds supplement a homeless service provider's budget. They are awarded through a request for application process. NHAP directs funding for activities that include street outreach, emergency shelter, homeless prevention, and rapid rehousing.
